Pro Stock 4x4 Trucks
Weight
- 6,500 lbs.
- If one or more of the following exist, such as cut out bed, front mounted fuel tank, batteries, dry sumps, improved steering, etc, are found in front of the grill, the truck must run 200 lbs. light and drop 1” of hitch height.
Engine
- Maximum cubic inch is 485 with 1% allowed.
- Engine shall be equipped with cast iron heads and engine block.
- OEM head bolt and intake bolt patterns only.
- One gasoline carburetor allowed. NO fuel injection.
- Racing Gasoline only. NO fuel additives, alcohol, nitro methane, propylene, or nitrous oxide allowed.
- NO sheet metal or tunnel ram intakes allowed.
- SFI approved engine balancer required.
- Exhaust shall exit vertically or down and back.
Body and Chassis
- Any metal truck body that is OEM produced.
- Maximum wheelbase 133”.
- No part of the truck may extend more than 60” forward from the center line of the front axle.
- Engine location is restricted to a minimum of 14” between the centerline of the axle and the rear edge of the engine block.
- OEM front axle may not exceed a Dana 60.
- Front axle must remain in intended location.
- Any rear end allowed.
- Any traction bars allowed.
- OEM frames only.
Hitch
- 26” maximum hitch height from the point of the hook to the ground.
- Minimum hitch length is figured at 36% of truck wheelbase. For example, 133”x36%=47.88” from the center line of the rear axle to the hook point.
- Hitch components must be rigid in all directions.
Tires
- A maximum tire sidewall stamping size of 33x12.50-15, 16, or 16.5, 315/70/15, 285/75/16 with a maximum of a 12” wide rims.
- Tires must be DOT approved and unaltered.
Transmission
- Any Transmission
- Transmission must be equipped with SFI approved bell housing, blanket, or shield and be matched to an SFI approved flywheel for the application.
- Transfer cases may be married or divorced. Aftermarkets allowed.
Safety
- All drivers must wear an approved fire suit and a DOT approved helmet.
- All trucks will be equipped with a fire extinguisher within the reach of the driver.
- Seatbelts are required and must be worn while hooked to the sled.
- 360 degree u-joint shielding is required. Loops must be made out of 3/16” steel or ¼” aluminum.
- Back up light in reverse required.
- Neutral light recommended.
- Truck must be equipped with kill switch(s) that shut off the ignition as well as the fuel pumps.
- Sled bumpers may extend past the hitch or body. These are recommended but not required.
- Truck must have working brakes.
- Truck must be equipped with a tow hook on the front of the vehicle for pull off purposes.
Tech and Protests
IAMO can tech and P&G all trucks more than once throughout the season. Tech official will choose which cylinder.
Truck representative will install plug adapter, remove needed parts for inspection or Illegal P&G.
Tech official will decide tear down procedures.
$200 Protest fee has been established.
Protest within 15 minutes of class ending by a puller of the same class.
If the person/truck being protested leaves before P&G or tear down procedure, the truck is considered illegal.
$75 is for promoter to pay for services and protest procedures
If proven legal, $125 goes to the person/truck being protested.
If engine is illegal $200 is returned to protester. Truck and Owner will be banned ONE YEAR and a DAY for illegal engines. Regardless of ownership change or different truck being run.
Hitch height may be protested for $20.
IAMO keeps money. Illegal hitches lose points for event and prize money for the pull.
